Troubleshooting
Another file upload failed.
If your upload failed unexpectedly, but worked previously, it may indicate that you exceeded some limits in the current subscription plan. If you are an Account owner or Admin, you can check the subscription status in your account. For details, see Subscription.
The upload process is very slow.
Timeline pulls data from ServiceNow tables using different queries. You may select the Use time index on audit table option while configuring import settings to speed up the uploading process. It improves the data upload if the sys_created_on field has an index in the sys_audit table. Otherwise, if this field has no index and you select the Use time index on audit table option, the upload process can slow down significantly.
Please, check that the sys_created_on field has an index, before enabling the option.
How to check if the sys_created_on field has an index?
Failed to start the import process. Error: Invalid redirect_uri.
Issue
The issue indicates that ServiceNow uses the wrong Redirect URL for the external client. You may see this error during the first data upload after you configure ServiceNow import settings and click Import. Also, it can happen after you reconfigure ServiceNow import settings and click Save.
Solution
Reconfigure Redirect URL for the external client in ServiceNow. Redirect URL should consist of your Timeline domain/subdomain path and the api/project/service-now/callback appendix.
For example, when you enter credentials for your Timeline account, you see the address that starts from https://XYZ.timelinepi.com/. To register Timeline in ServiceNow, specify Redirect URL that consists of the domain path and the api/project/service-now/callback appendix. In this case, https://XYZ.timelinepi.com/api/project/service-now/callback.
Failed to start the import process. Error: Unauthorized_client.
Issue
The issue indicates that ServiceNow credentials provided in Timeline are either not valid or not trusted. One or several of the following fields were misconfigured in the ServiceNow import settings window: Instance, Сlient ID, or Client secret.
You may see this error during the first data upload after you configure ServiceNow import settings and click Import. Also, it can happen after you reconfigure ServiceNow import settings and click Save.
Solution
Reconfigure the ServiceNow connection in Timeline using the correct credentials. Reenter values for Instance, Сlient ID, and Client secret. You can copy Сlient ID and Client secret while registering Timeline in ServiceNow.
For instructions on the ServiceNow reconfiguration in Timeline, see ServiceNow Import Settings > How to reconfigure the ServiceNow connection.
