Deadline Analysis

Overview

Deadline analysis allows you to ensure that process steps are completed on time, showing you if certain timelines breach the deadline. Accessing and monitoring such information gives you a clue if process time goals are achieved. At the same moment, verifying process steps that miss the deadline may persuade you to reassess existing time frames and rebuild the workflow relying on actual time necessity.

For example, it is crucial for new patients to get laboratory results as soon as possible. By running a deadline analysis for all new data uploaded to the project, you may set up a maximum time between events Lab ordered and Lab resulted. In case the program identifies that some research took longer, you will see the number and the percentage of timelines that missed the deadline. Based on the analysis, you can set up notifications about deadline violations using a special tool - Alerts - to inform the interested people who will take necessary measures.

To use this analysis module, select Deadline analysis in the drop-down list under the project's name.

Dealing with Deadline analysis

This feature can contribute to business process assessment and review in the following ways:

  • As an analysis module to search for process instances that violate certain time frames.
Configure and run the analysis to display timelines that missed the deadline and filter those entities into a set. After identifying which process instances breach defined time intervals, the next step could be to go deeper in the analysis to discover the root causes.
For details on how to create a deadline configuration, see Deadline Configuration.
  • As a basis for alerts to predict future possible violations.
Set up a deadline and train a model using project data. After that, you gain an option to build a predictive alert to send notifications if the program forecasts timelines to miss the deadline. Escalate an issue to inform responsible persons or trigger a software system to perform a task.
For details on deadline predictive model and related alerts configuration, see Training and Alerts.
