Protocol Configuration

Flexible and case-dependent configuration of this analysis module allows you to mimic a certain rule in a process. Place the events of interest in the required order and set up dependency parameters for them. The exact configuration steps can differ based on the nature of the process. Below you can find details about configuration options that are available for protocol creation.

  1. Select process steps on which the new protocol will be based.
To do it, click Set events. In the appeared window, select the events required to configure the rule.
  2. Place the events in the required order.
Click and hold an event icon or number and drag and drop it to the desired position to form the protocol-defining sequence.
Here you can not only change the events added to the configuration and their order but also insert additional events to precise locations. Click an event to enable these additional actions:
    1. Change
Replace an event with another, keeping its position and settings.
    2. Add before event / Add after event
Select an event and insert it before or after the current one into the sequence. Even if the event is already present in the protocol, it will be added as a separate step.
    3. Delete
Remove the selected event from the sequence.
  3. Define event occurrence-related options.
Click an event and provide additional parameters:
    1. Optional
The event is not mandatory and can be skipped in the process. Timelines not containing it will not be treated as violations.
    2. Time constraint
The event should happen within a certain time interval after another specified event. You need to set the minimum or maximum time and select the preceding event.
Note. Time is treated as an absolute value here, Calendar settings are not applied to protocols. For details, see Calendars.
    3. Concurrent with
The event must occur simultaneously with another specified event. You need to select an event that is already added to the sequence.
    4. Repeating between
The number of consequent repetitions of the selected event per timeline. You need to specify how many times in a row the event can occur by specifying a range.
Note. This parameter does not check the absolute number of repetitions in a timeline. Only loops of the same event are considered when it occurs more than once before another event succeeds it.
    5. Floating between steps
The event can occur at any position of the sequence, but only between two other specified events. You need to select the pair of events between which the given one must occur.
  4. Review the results.
Click Show violations in the upper-right corner. You will see a list of detected violations and their types in a separate window. For more information on possible outcomes and how to deal with them, see Protocol Violations.
  5. Save the created Protocol configuration.
You can keep a protocol for long-term monitoring of violations. Before saving, make sure to provide a descriptive name to the protocol.
