Tutorial
In this Tutorial you will find two sample FlexiLayouts and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to create them.
For the sake of simplicity, the samples in this Tutorial use one-page documents. For sample FlexiLayouts designed to process more complex documents, see the folders Contract, Invoice, Letter, Prices, etc. located in %public%\ABBYY\FlexiCapture\12.0\Samples\FLS.
- The Halloween Registration Formsection describes the creation of a FlexiLayout for a simple registration document. You will learn how to create blocks and elements, set simple search constraints and describe field locations. The FlexiLayout Studio project with the test images and a ready-made FlexiLayout can be found in %public%\ABBYY\FlexiCapture\12.0\Samples\FLS\English\Halloween Form.
- The Easiest Recipes section describes the creation of a FlexiLayout for a more complex document with various types of fields. Here you will learn some tricks and non-standard approaches that may be helpful when describing field locations. The FlexiLayout Studio project with the test images and a ready-made FlexiLayout can be found in %public%\ABBYY\FlexiCapture\12.0\Samples\FLS\English\Recipe.
- The Invoices section describes a creation of a flexible Document Definition (FlexiLayout) for a simple invoice. You will create blocks and elements of type Table and also learn some approaches which may be used in case of realistic images. The tutorial has links to various sections of the help file, particularly Help/Tutorial/Sample1 and Help/Tutorial/Sample2, which describe in detail how to create a FlexiLayout with blocks and elements of different types (except Table) and how to do most basic actions. You can find a third sample FlexiLayout in %public%\ABBYY\FlexiCapture\12.0\Samples\FLS\English\Invoice One-Page. The test images in the project are typical of invoices and contain standard data fields and a table.
