Capturing receipts

ABBYY FlexiCapture for Invoices includes a special type of project called Receipts, which allows you to capture data from receipts without any additional preparations. You can use this type of project, for example, to capture receipts from business trips and receipts confirming out-of-pocket expenses. You can also customize the preconfigured Receipts project to suit your business requirements.

A receipt is a document that shows the prices you paid for goods or services, the date and time of purchase, and location where the purchase was made.

ABBYY FlexiCapture for Invoices uses neural networks and machine learning technology to capture data from receipts.

To start capturing receipts, create a new ABBYY FlexiCapture project, selecting Receipts for the type of your project. The newly created project will include a Document Definition named Receipt, complete with all the required fields, verification rules, and image preprocessing settings.

If you need to process both invoices and receipts, you can combine two Document Definitions within the same project. For this combination to work, you will need to configure and train a classifier so that the appropriate Document Definition can be selected for each class of document (see Creating a classifier for detailed instructions). Document Definitions for invoices can be imported from the preconfigured invoice project included with ABBYY FlexiCapture for Invoices.
