Processing Receipts

ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 SDK can process a new ABBYY FlexiCapture project type — Receipts. The solution includes Document Definitions specifically designed for processing receipts.

Note: To use the functionality in ABBYY FlexiCapture SDK, you will need a license that allows you to use the Document Definition associated with the solution.

A receipt is a document that confirms a payment for goods or services. Typically, the receipt may include the vendor name, the date when the receipt was issued, the total amount of the receipt, and the item the purchaser bought. A project of this type contains a Document Definition with the configured fields and verification rules, as well as image preprocessing settings.

You can work with receipts using a preconfigured ABBYY FlexiCapture receipt project. For this, you must first create a project with the help of ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Developer's Package and then open it in ABBYY FlexiCapture SDK using the OpenProject method of the Engine object (see also Opening the Project). Or you can call the CreateReceiptProject method of the Engine object to create an empty project with predefined countries and a Document Definition configured for the following countries:

  • USA (US)
  • Canada (CA)
  • Germany (DE)
  • Italy (IT)
  • Spain (ES)
  • France (FR)
  • Russia (RU)
  • United Kingdom (GB)
  • Australia (AU)
  • Singapore (SG)
  • Netherlands (NL)
  • Turkey (TR)
  • Poland (PL)
  • Sweden (SE)
  • Finland (FI)
  • Austria (AT)
  • Switzerland (CH)
  • New Zealand (NZ).

If you need to process the receipts of a certain country, you can set the country in advance. To do this, find the fc_Predefined:ReceiptPredefinedCountries registration parameter (the Find method of the RegistrationParameters object) and specify the two-letter country code from the list above in it. In this case, the value of the country will be taken from the registration parameter.
