Deadline

The Deadline tool is used to ensure that tasks are completed before the deadline – aka the latest time or date by which something should be completed.
For deadline analysis, select Analysis > Deadline analysis menu.

Defining a deadline
- Time Interval
An amount of time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, or years) after an event in which other events are expected to occur.
i.e. An insurance claim should have an adjuster assigned within 5 hours of information being received - Cutoff time
If an event or events started by specific time, then the expected events will occur by another set time.
Running the deadline analysis will display timelines that missed the deadline and gives users the ability to filter deadlines into set.
As an Alert
You can build a "stage of alerts". This is the ability to age more conditions. i.e. Alert someone before the deadline is breached. Notify manager if the breach of deadline occurs. Escalate issue to alert/notify someone else or trigger a software system to perform a task.
Example
Defining a deadline by a simple amount of time: In an insurance claim once a claim has been opened and setup, an adjuster must be assigned within 8 hours. The 8 hours is the amount of time for the deadline. This means that within 8 hours of events ‘claim opened’ and ‘claim setup’, the ‘adjuster assigned’ event must happen otherwise the alert is triggered.
