Using Local Settings on Scanning Stations

Local settings are intended for setups where Operators work independently. When local settings are used, Operators create batch types and specify all processing and export settings.

When exporting batch types to the server, the Administrator needs to make sure the Distribute these batch types to all Scanning Stations option is disabled.

When this option is disabled, the Scanning Station will use the local settings specified by its Operator.

The Administrator and the Scanning Station Operator have the following tasks when local settings are used:

Administrator Operator
Tasks when using local settings
  • Gives the Operator permissions for a project
  • Creates new batch types
  • Specifies batch type settings
  • Scans images using these settings
  • Exports the batches

When using local settings, Operators still have the option to switch to global settings. To enable global settings, select the option Update batch types on start automatically on the FlexiCapture Server tab of the Tools Options... menu.

Important! If the Update batch types on start option is disabled on the Scanning Station, but the Administrator has enabled global settings (by enabling the Distribute these batch types option), the Scanning Station will still import the global settings every time it starts.
