Troubleshooting the scanning plugin

To be able to scan documents on web stations, you need to install the scanning plugin. The plugin does not support concurrent use by different operators. If different operators use the same machine, each one has to sign out from the system once he or she is finished. Not signing out will create a disconnected session, which will cause the web stations of other users to direct their requests to the HTTP server of the disconnected session. In this case, the scanning plugin will not be operable.

However, if you do encounter this problem, do one of the following:

  • Restart the machine. This will automatically close all sessions. Once the system is restarted, the scanning plugin will then be launched under the correct user.
Note: If you have administrator privileges, you can end the ScanningPluginBR.exe process in the Task Manager instead of restarting the machine.
  • Run the following command using the command line: "ScanningPluginBR.exe /server". This will end the ScanningPluginBR.exe process and end the session. The scanning plugin will then be launched under the current user.
Note: The ScanningPluginBR.exe file is located in the ProgramFiles folder if the plugin was installed by the system administrator. Otherwise, it is located in the %USER%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\ScanningPlugin\3.0 folder.
