Exporting a Form to PDF
Important!A form can be exported to PDF if it has at least one edited field.
Before distributing a form electronically, exporting it to PDF is recommended. You will be able to add response button(s) to the form. Clicking these buttons will send the completed form to the specified address.
After exporting an image to the PDF format, you will be able to edit it in other form editing programs, such as Adobe Acrobat Professional.
To export your form to PDF, click File → Export To → PDF Form... on the menu.
- Before selecting PDF saving options, in the Ways to Get Responses dialog box, choose whether response buttons should be added to your form. The button(s) will appear in the top left corner of the first page. Select from the following options (you can select one or both options or none at all):
- Send responses by e-mail (specify an e-mail address)
- Send responses over the Internet (specify an URL)
- Clear form data (select this option to delete all data from the form)
For each button, you can specify your own text or use the suggested text. You can also specify the position of the buttons on the form:
- Top - a button will appear at the top of the first page of the form;
- Bottom - a button will appear at the bottom of the last page of the form;
- Top and bottom - a button will appear both at the top of the first page and at the bottom of the last page of the form.
- In the Export to PDF dialog box, specify a file name and the folder where you want to save the file.
- You can select additional saving options by clicking Advanced... at the bottom of the Export to PDF dialog box. In the PDF file options dialog box, you can define the following:
- Save mode (text only or image only)
- Font settings (use system fonts or standard fonts)
- Embed fonts (select this option if you want to embed fonts in your form)
