Using Active Directory
The Microsoft Windows Server family of operating systems includes the Active Directory (AD) service. The Group Policy feature of the Software Installation component of AD can be used to remotely install software on multiple workstations at the same time.
There are three installation methods in Active Directory:
- Publish to User (not supported)
- Assign to User (not supported)
- Assign to Computer
ABBYY FineReader 14 can only be installed using the Assign to Computer method.
Important!
- The installation of FineReader on a workstation will only be completed after the workstation is restarted.
- The following example illustrates deployment under Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.
