Scanner Settings Dialog Box
In this dialog box, you can set up your scanner if you selected the ABBYY Scanning Station scanner interface.
You can set values for image resolution, color mode, brightness, paper size, compression, and rotation. Select multi-page scanning options, if required. To scan and preview a page, click Preview. When the scanning process ends, the image of the scanned page appears in the window above the Preview button. Adjust the selected values, if required. Click Close to return to the scanner profile properties.
Note. The Preview feature is not available on ISIS scanners.
|Resolution (drop-down list)
|Allows you to set the resolution of scanned images. Select higher resolutions for texts printed in small-sized fonts.
|Color mode (drop-down list)
|Allows you to select a color mode for scanning images. Gray mode is best for OCR purposes.
|Compression (drop-down list)
|Allows you to select compression for scanned images.
|Rotation (drop-down list)
|Allows you to rotate images.
|Allows you to remove a certain color from scanned images. You can select Red, Green, Blue, or None from the drop-down list. (Selecting None retains all colors.)
|Brightness (drop-down list)
|Allows you to select between automatic and manual brightness adjustment. To change the brightness, move the slider below the drop-down list.
|Paper size (drop-down list)
Allows you to select paper size.
Note. If none of the suggested paper sizes suits your needs, you can create a custom paper size. Select Custom... from the list and in the Custom Paper Size dialog box, specify the required paper height and width.
|Use automatic document feeder (ADF)
|Select this option if an ADF-equipped scanner is being used.
|Select this option for duplex scanning.
|Pause for N seconds after each page
|Select this option if you want the scanning to pause fornseconds after each page. Type in the desired time interval in seconds.
|Click this button to scan and preview a page. When the scanning process ends, the image of the scanned page appears in the window above this button. The Preview feature is not available on ISIS scanners.
