Adding and deleting documents
You can upload documents by clicking Upload documents or by dragging documents onto the browser window.
Each file may only contain one document. If you have multiple image files with separate pages of a multi-page document, you will need to combine them into one file.
For a list of supported file formats, see Supported file formats.
ABBYY Vantage won't be able to process secured PDF files (for example, password-protected PDFs, or PDFs with content copying prohibited). To process such files, use a third-party PDF editing tool to remove the restrictions.
By default, the uploaded documents are displayed in a list and are sorted by upload date. For each document, the following information is available:
- The name of the file
- Upload date and time
- The name of the selected and applied skill (if a suitable skill was found in the Skill Catalog)
- The number of fields that can be extracted from a document of this type and the number of fields that have been successfully extracted from this particular document
Clicking the button will sort the documents by applied skill. This is useful, for example, when you need to group together documents of the same type for manual review purposes. For each document, the extracted key fields will be displayed.Exactly which key fields will be displayed is determined by the settings of the respective skill. Documents whose type cannot be detected automatically will be grouped as the Unknown Documents type.
Next to each document to which a skill has been applied you will see a link that opens the Manual Review window for that document. You can also select multiple documents and click the Review Result button on the toolbar or Review Document in the Actions pane. This will open all of the selected documents in the same Manual Review window. For more information, see the Manual Review client section of Runtime guide.
If, during manual review, you decide that one or more skills should be modified, you can create a copy of that skill and modify its settings to suit your needs.
Any documents that fail to upload (e.g. due to an unsupported file format or an interrupted Internet connection) will be displayed in red. You can attempt to re-upload a document by clicking thebutton to the right of the upload date and selecting Reload on the pop-up menu. Alternatively, you can click the Reload button next to the document that you want to re-upload.
To delete documents or groups of documents, do one of the following:
- Click the button to the right of the document or group of documents that you want to delete and then click Delete or Delete Documents on the pop-up menu.
- Select the documents or groups of documents using the checkboxes on the left and then click the Delete button on the toolbar.
