Start and End Events
Logs are used to record user actions like opening and closing of programs, switching between program windows, context menu actions, filling out of text fields, button clicks, keyboard text input, copy-paste actions. All recorded user actions should be marked as separate actions during task definition.
Tasks are defined in the Task Definition Editor form. You can define a task automatically by clicking Show suggestion or do so manually by specifying the start and end events. When defining a task manually, we recommend that you designate unique events to be the start and end events.
Instead of specifying the same event as both a start and end event for different tasks at the same time, select a different unique task that is similar to the original one. Alternatively, upload the log to different Timeline projects and analyze the tasks using different projects.
Examples of suitable start/end events:
- Invoke start button
- Invoke create order
- Invoke new item
- Invoke add form
- ChangeElement First Name
- ChangeElement Last field
- Invoke close button
- Invoke submit button
- Invoke send to approve
