Installing ABBYY FineReader PDF on a Terminal Server
Installation
ABBYY FineReader PDF deployment was tested on Citrix Workspace App 1808 and later and Windows Server 2012 R2 and later with Windows Remote Desktop Services 7.0 (setup was performed using Windows RemoteApp and Citrix Workspace App). Both of these solutions can be used with any version of ABBYY FineReader PDF.
ABBYY FineReader PDF does not support application streaming.
For Concurrent and Remote User licenses:
- Create an administrative installation point.
The License Server and the License Manager can be installed on any computer in the local area network.
Important! A license server should be deployed on a machine that is accessible on all local machines running ABBYY FineReader PDF at all times.
Note. The License Server can be installed on the terminal server.
See Administrative installation with License Server and License Manager for details. - Launch the License Manager.
- Add all your licenses in the License Manager.
- Install ABBYY FineReader PDF from the administrative installation folder onto the terminal server.
ABBYY FineReader will be installed on the terminal server as if it was a workstation. Users will be able to connect to the server and use FineReader via a client.
Note. If ABBYY Screenshot Reader is installed on a terminal server and accessed via Windows RemoteApp or Citrix Workspace App, users will only be able to make screenshots in applications that are running on the terminal server.
Concurrent and Remote User license specifications
The number of concurrent connections will be limited by license parameters.
Note. If a user starts ABBYY Hot Folder or another bundled application without starting FineReader, a Concurrent/Remote User license will still be allocated to the user. The above does not apply to ABBYY Screenshot Reader, as it does not need a Concurrent/Remote User license to be launched.
